Discovery House Mission:
Discovery House provides a safe, supportive environment for unhoused adults who are recovering from addiction. Residents receive counseling and tools to build foundations for a better life.
History of Discovery House:
Phylis Kempema, a recovered alcoholic, founded the first Discovery House location in the Miller mansion on Hill Avenue in January 1993, the first resident was welcomed into the home that same month.
Discovery House provided information, services and programs on behalf of women recovering from substance abuse addiction. Later, services and housing were extended to include both men and women.
Discovery House now includes residency for Men and Women. Discovery House and Daniel House have space for 24 Residence.
